Well I'm probably one of the only older members on this forum that didn't have an AVATAR till now. So here it is

looks good. i have had an avatar of my old dover white SE, my 80 LS, and now the 88 10AE. i can never figure out how to resize a picutre to set it as an avatar so when i do figure it out, the picture stays the same for quite some time, lol.

 

I hear you about finding a picture to meet specs 6kb or 100x100. What I actually ended up doing was in paint making the picture to exactly 100 x100, which brought it down to 12.3 kb, then wents into microsoft photo editor to increase the brightnees by about 10% i think or so and brought it down to 5.97kb or so. When you make a picture brighter you're essentially taking colors out and addind just a tad more white almost so reduces kb.

 

If you guys want pictures resized email them to me. I'd be more than happy to resize them and email them back to you for avatar use. BTW, dj55b not to be a critic or anything but your avatar looks a little distorted?? Are you sure that you resized it right?

Its not that its distorted, its just that I made the picture square as oppose to leaving it one side bigger htan the other

Just took out unessary stuff out of that image and have one now that isn't squished together and without doing brightness modifications

I've found that all you really have to do is attach the photo to a post, and then save the thumbnail of the attachment. That usually works for me. lol.
