Vacuum Question

There is a nipple on the intake manifold that, according to the diagram, goes to the Auto Trans. I have a 5 speed. Does that mean I just cap it off?

Normally automatic transmissions have a vacuum modulator that uses the vacuum signal to help control the shift points. Like Jeff said, cap it off because the manual transmission is controlled by your brain.

Use a high quality cap. Avoid the cheap rubber ones found at all auto parts stores. See if you can make your own from a piece of 1/4" fuel line with something shoved in the end. I think it's 1/4".
