That GSL is beautiful. I've NEVER seen one that nice all the way around before. Every little thing on a 1st gen interior that usually drives me nuts is perfect on your car. The shift boot, the plastic dash panel for the center console, the rear hatch carpet, the door pull cups... everywhere I look it's flawless. PLEASE keep that car out of the weather and sunlight. It belongs in a Mazda museum if you ask me....

Whats the story on your car mate? This thing is in immaculate shape, it looks almost like it rolled out of the factory last week!

no, the car was at a used car lot here in town. i drove by and bought it after talking with the dealer's owner for less than five minutes.

Glazedham42, unfortunatly the interior is not as perfect as the pictures depict. the driver's door cup is cracked around the top trim, the shift boot and **** are faded badly, and the rear carpet is brittle and has a few holes towards the back. i have the sunroof bag covering those holes. the clutch master is starting to go bad (rebuild kit will be in thursday), the beehive is slightly leaking oil, the clearcoat on the wheels is shot ( i have a brand new set of X pattern mazda wheels dates 4/84 that will go on the car by spring). other than that the car is as perfect as it can get. i was really suprised to see that the horn button is not faded. thats the first maroon horn button that i have seen personally that is not faded. i have the original owners manual that looks as if has never been opened and the Mazda 10 minute maitenance guide. those two things are stowed away in the glovebox.
it just appears the the previous owner neglected the car. and rode the clutch, as i just replaced the beast. it was worn to the rivits. and yes, the GSL definatly stays garaged. it kicked my 85 S out of the garage once finished, the GSL will go to the car barn with the 10AE, the Leather Sport, the 63 Falcon, the 88 TII, and the wrecked 85 GS(if it doesnt sell) for the winter and my 85 S will be back in the garage at my house to be finished. i have some suspension work to do on the car as well as some undercoating.
