Two beautiful FB's on BAT this week

1) 1985 S in Tender Blue, 48K miles https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1985-mazda-rx-7-61/
2) 1984 GSL-SE, Persimmon Red, body kit, only 10K miles. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1984-mazda-rx-7-21/

My guess is (1) will fetch about $13K and (2) could get north of $25K.

Love the colors on both but not crazy about the brown leather and whale tail on the 5 letter beauty.

Edit: Read the comments. Looks like the car is being presented by, but not owned by Pettit racing.

Both are really nice examples tho!

Blue one is a very nice car! Definitely not a fan of all the cheap bolt on plastic parts on the other.

I'm sure they will both sell for a premium!

Persimmon sold for $19,250. I thought a 10K mile 5 letter would go for more... maybe the body kit was the anchor?

If this had been a more unmolested example, I think it definitely would have appealed to a wider audience and maybe gone for substantially more. I thought the seller confused things a bit also, by making posts under the Pettit Racing screen name. Maybe he works there? But to have two different entities responding under the same name was odd I thought.

They didn't do themselves any favors with the whole compression test request either. I agree that some people get too hung up on compression numbers. I also believe in this case, the engine is fine and Pettit Racing trustworthy, but how difficult would it be for a shop with all the equipment, to run a quick test and post up the numbers instead of just saying it was good when tested but not written down? Thats just not very good customer service as far as I'm concerned.

no compression test and coming from pettit...knowing they could do it in 5 minutes..

well that would be a hard no.

"shows 10k miles" is suspect as well. Can't believe they got that much.

Yeah I was a little surprised at the final price too.

Front lip was all dinged up, seemed like a pretty easy fix based on the rest of the car to maximize the value.

While it clearly isn't a high miler, those were 10,000 pretty heavy miles based on the interior wear.

Good news the sale prices are going back up. Getting ready to sell my '84 GSL-SE w/45k miles soon. Also my '84 Harley Superglide.
