sun visors.

I think our 7's are the only cars that have sun visors that adjust up or down in tiny increments and stay there.

the S3 sun visors are by far the nicest but but earlier models work well and without issue.

The plastic pivot points do eventually wear out, though... and I wish the metal arms had been better chromed. They pit with age

Mine kept falling down whenever I hit any bump. Removed them a few years ago, never looked
back :-)

when i launch my car and shift hard mine spin around and whack me in the forehead.... extremely annoying so i used a tiny piece of velcro to make them stay firmly to the headliner lol.. no more yelling damnit after my 1-2 shift and reaching up to slap it back to the front

Mine never stays up. But I like having them when I'm driving towards the sun, so I'll just deal with it for now.

I'm wondering if the design improved as the years went on from 79-85. Perhaps the 84-85 visors were better due to the better interior package as a whole. I did notice that the edges of the visors are showing some separation, but there are still in great shape. In my other cars (2005 town & country; 2005 Cr-V), you can only put the visor all the way up or all the way down--nothing in between which is annoying. It seems that overall, the interiors of cars back in the day were inferior to what we have today, but our 7's were still good for its time. My friend's 280Z' interior is trashed compared to mine, and he has less miles on his car.

I've had a 79,86,87,88, and a 90 and the visors have always been nice. My only complaint on the 79 visor is that it's kinda small. That being said my 94 Miata's visor was only 2 inches thick and was useless.

lmao! i was driving on the track with the helmets visor up, hit a bump in the middle of a turn, and the helmet visor hooked the sunvisor and flipped it down, suddenly you go from looking down the track to reading the back of the sunvisor!

its F-ing funny now....
