Strange intake issues
Hey everyone, recently I've been struggling with some issues regarding possibly my stock intake system or catalytic converter. Not too sure which, maybe both. So I recently had the stock nikki off because I was going to install a racing beat dellorto carb and manifold setup. That didn't quite gobto plan, was having some jetting issues with it that I'll sort out later on. That carb would cause my cat to get cherry red (probably because the carb was so rich). Anyway, I decided to mess with the dell abother day so I put my stock setup back on the car with a new intake gasket/orings. The ONLY thing that I changed was installing 2 20mm freeze plugs in the coolant holes for easy access of the manifold so I don't have to drain the coolant all the time. So I get the stock carb back on and I notice that something isn't right with the way the car is running. When the engine is revved, it takes longer for the revs to fall than before. Not only that, but my car seems to have alot more afterfire (pops from exhaust not out of carb) more than it used to. It doesn't seem to have any less power than it did before but to be honest I cant really recall what it felt like before. I've checked all the vacuum lines, they are all in good shape, no cracks. All the electrics are plugged in, all cables are set properly. I'm just not sure why it takes longer for the revs to fall than it did before. I was thinking maybe the cat is done in, but I dont know if that would effect the rpm speed. The car still runs, drives and idles fine, however sometimes the idle changes in it's smoothness but nothing crazy. Not roughg by any means. Honestly, any help is appreciated. It's really just annoying more than anything

yup, air pump is still connected. I know for sure the pump itself works, but as for the ACV im not entirely sure. There doesn't seem to be air coming out of the air injection tube that connects to the cst at idle, but I dont know if it's suppost to run at idle

maybe your problem is the unavailability of cold air intake. As i had when i turned to the mechanics. Guys advised air filter for 6.0 powerstroke, i found here https://boostyourengine.com/cold-air...0-powerstroke/ there is a great choice for my pickup. Now i can easily get to my mother-in-law in minnesota. But i don't want to go there
