already paid 2000.00 on my 79 and transport company cant find a driver to come all the way from n,j to ga.Just wante to give you all a update.

 

Did you already pay for the transport? If so they need to get on the ball. I had my GSL-SE shipped from Ohio to FL never had a problem unfortunitly that was 5 yrs ago and i dont have thier info anymore.

 

The guy i bought the car from paid the deposit,when the car gets here i pay the rest.I called other places and its a wait also.Man this stinks

yea, here is the problem. I am well aware of this as I have shipped about a hundred cars and ran into this problem a couple of times. When you shipping this car you aren't actually using a transporter you are using a "transport broker" what they do is get on a network that says I have a car from here that needs to go there around date X who is going that way and who will give me the best price. If no one is available at that time they will give you the song and dance that they are trying to find a driver... The other part of that is if the quote is too high from the driver they find they will wait on a better price..... and give you the song and dance above.

What they won't tell you is that the "driver" does not work for them, nor that for this great service they are providing you are paying them about 20% of your shipping cost. Because of how many cars I have shipped in the past I have gotten some of my drivers to talk about it. The money that is due upon arrival is the total amount of money they get.

Your best bet for shipping in the future is to look in the Hemmings and when calling for a shipper specifically ask if they are a broker or is this actually their shipping company. The other thing it is necessary to specify a shipping DATE not "around this date" it has to be done as car must be shipped no later than X

You can demand your deposit back if they have not fulfilled their part of the contract but then you will have to find transport and probably within a very short time frame. Usually when i threaten to demand a refund for this reason they very quickly find a transporter. But again if I can help it I go straight to the transporter.

Thank you for the info.I guess im at a stand still.The price to ship is 500.00 and some change.They told me up to a 7 day wait.My order was comfirmed on the 14 so i have a few mor to go.Now with that snow storm they had today wont help either.Thanks for the hads up.
