soldering on rear view mirror?

The 2 metal tabs that hold the bulb inside my rear view mirror have both broken loose. Tried soldering but either I'm just really bad at it or I'm not able to get any kind of heat on it enough to solder them back together.

Anyone ever messed with this?

I needed a small torch to heat the clip enough to resolder. I couldn't heat it in place without melting the plastic. The clips are fastened in place with rivets. I have been able to drill out the rivet and replace it with a tiny bolt and nut. You can also wrap the wires around the heads of these bolts instead of soldering them to the clip.
