should i buy it?

i have an opportunity to buy me a 1984 rx7. apparently she has been sitting for 2 years and needs a "clutch cable". i was like clutch cables are not that hard to replace. so while awaiting a respond from the seller i try to look for a clutch cable and only to discover that they too are hydro master cylinder and slaves. currently i own a fc but its more of my wifes car and i would like to have my own. so b4 i do go there and look at it within the week, i will bring some brake fluid for the clutch system to see if its just empty because it sat too long, and gas. and also my tools. its very very cheap but i just want to know if you guys would buy it. i have already rebuilt the engine in the fc and its running strong at 700 miles. thanks.

Hey Man, if it's cheap and your good with tools, there should be no down side? Tough to say much w/o knowing what are the mechanical and cosmetic issues... Sitting for 2 yrs likely mean fuel issues. 84's have a drain in the fuel tank. Get that old crap out before you try to start it, and change the fuel filter (assuming its a carbed 12a engine, not the injected 13b GSL-SE) which is located under the car, in front of drivers REAR wheel. $3 item @ any parts store. And make sure you have a good strong battery, rotary needs a good solid spin to get started.
Rust, esp rear around upper control arm mounts can be a deal-breaker, likewise under the storage boxes behind the seats. Rust @ Rear fenders around wheel and behind well are pretty standard too.
Tons of archived info so check that too here in Archives
