RX-7 1984 interior

On eBay right now http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mazda...Z290559896408:

The car is a 1984 GS and should thus according to the brochure (and all the cars I have seen) have dotted velour fabric on seats and door inserts.

However this car has a tweed-like fabric on the seats and no fabric-inserts in the doors.

As the VIN JM1FB3315E0813318 is not an early one, it rules out that it should be some strange kind of 1983/84 mix of parts.

What kind of interior is this?

Best regards, Bo

Hmm, otherwise such a nice-looking car. A bit unusual that someone would go so far and molest something which can be assumed to have been an original interior in excellent condition.

welcome to america.... the car does actually look like it has original paint...

although in their defense the door panel tops last about a week in the sun before they shrivel up, you will not find an 81-85 S or GS with original door panels in a sunny place

Honestly... not a fan of the carpet or the pattern used for the door inserts but it doesn't look that bad, and the roof liner looks well done...

Still odd choice of materials and color imo..
