Rosie's Done After 18 Months of Work! *PICS*

Well guys, I have pretty much finished up the 83 GS which has been deemed "Rosie." I've been working on the car for about 18 months and there isn't much left to do except enjoy it for a while. Everything turned out really nice, and I'll let the pictures speak for the car. If anyone has any questions fire away. I'd be more than happy to answer!

Jamie

Very nice. I didn't like those door panels much but now they've started to grow on me; gives the car an older feel.

Clean!
Is that a leather Grant wheel? What do you think of it? Any gauge obstruction?

I'll have to do some digging and find some before pictures. I'll post them here whenever I find them. The seats are from a 2006 Miata. I got them on E-bay and drove to pick them up. They are missing a few of the plastic trim pieces, but I figure they'll be easy to find once the Miatas get oler. Right now the parts for the seats cost some major $$$, and are hard to find. I have no problem waiting.

Yes, that's a Grant steering wheel. I think it is a Formula GT wheel. It's 13". I got the wheel and adapter for about $70 on sale at Advanced Auto Parts. It's pretty small, and yes it does sorta get in the way of the gauges. However, I'm 6'4" and need as much room as I can get for my legs. It's a tradeoff that I was forced to make. Otherwise I have a hard time cramming myself into this car.

Here is a short list of what I did to the car:

-Stripped/Modified Nikki
-RB Air Cleaner w/K&N filter
-RB Light Steel Flywheel
-New water pump & Radiator
-Taurus Electric Fan
-2nd Gen Front Mount Oil Cooler
-Accel Thundersport Plug Wires
-Homemade Triangulated Strut Bar
-2GCDFIS with GM HEI Swap
-Holley FPR
-Carter Fuel Pump
-ReSpeed Header Heat Shield
-Channeled & Stripped Intake Manifold
-RB Header into 2 Magnaflows into OE Style Muffler
-RB Springs
-Tokico Blues
-Energy Suspension Full Bushing Kit
-ReSpeed Front Sway Bar
-New Tie Rod Ends
-New Idler Arm
-GSL Pumpkin
-Miata Short Shifter
-New Antenna
-Stainless Steel Brake Lines
-Stainless Steel Clutch Line
-New Brake Pads & Shoes
-New Clutch & Brake Master Cylinders
-Removed AC
-Removed Stereo
-Removed All Emissions
-Removed OMP & Running Premix

That's all I can think of right now.

Jamie

Looking real good man, nice and clean. How many miles have you put on it since completion? Got any closer pics of the shift boot and e-brake boot, looks pretty cool from a distance

short throw shifter

How do you like the Miata short shifter? I have heard some people like them and some people don't. Seems like most people don't have any problems though.

I'll post up a better picture of the two boots. They are hand made leather from a guy that was advertising on E-bay for a while. I think his name was Bill Telotte? Anyway, they are very well made and fit exceptionally well.

The Miata shifter is fun, and I would do it again for sure. I think it only cost me $30. It really does snap into the gears faster.

Thanks for the pics Jamie, I actually have his shift boots on both my FB's, I love them too, didn't realize he made e-brake boots as well, I'll have to see if he still does or not, looks pretty good.
What shift **** is that? Looks like it fits nicely with the interior.

No worries guys, it's just superglue. I saw that after I posted it and thought, "Man, that really looks like drugs. It looks like a syringe or something." Don't worry guys, I'm clean.

Jamie, your hard work has really paid off here my friend! that is a gorgeous car. the only thing different i would have done would be to have kept the wheels original (the aluminum X pattern, not the steel) and not have painted them. whats the story behind the car? how many owners, how did you find it, what condition was it in when you found it? do you still have the white FB that you conveted from auto to manual?
