road racing your first gen
I have two first gens that are set up for road racing in SCCA or Midwest Council, any body out there that is using the tri link rear end mod?

I've heard great things about it, and I have one waiting to go into my GS if I ever get the time and the desire. Supposed to be one of the best improvements you can make on the car.
Did you have a specific question?

I worked at a shop that built IT RX7's back in the early 90's. About every variation on the stock suspension was attempted. Nothing worked better than the tri-link with a pan-hard bar. If you are running an IT type car and you can run a tri-link then my suggestion would be to use it and get the GForce Engineering manual.
For higher HP cars - E Production - the tri link doesn't seem to let a car get off of a corner as fast as it can. Most of the cars in this area are running a KCRaceware designed 4 link setup for that reason. Not legal for an IT car.

thanks for the info, Scott. I have the manual and am about to order the tri-link. I have a panhard that does not look as nice as g-forces so I am not sure what to do, order the gforce part or put this cheep one on that I bought on ebay second hand. The info on the four link is a bummer as I would like to eventually run in e-prod. Start from scratch?

I have seen more than a few panhard rods fail on the track so make sure what you are putting on is good quality and check it often. I fabricated the one on my car and it has worked pretty good so far. The trick is to use high quality rod ends and a tube that is hefty.
