Recommendations on a good shift boot for 79?
What would you recommend for a good quality replacement of a 79 shift boot? I think the 79 takes a slightly larger boot than the 81-92 models which makes it a tad hard to find one that will fit. I'm looking for authentic leather.
i would start with redline! i know that it says 81-85 but what would keep them from fitting?

i do believe that they use real leather!

I have a rubber boot out of an 83 and it is like an inch smaller than the 79 at the base. It might stretch on the corners to fit the screws, but I'm not sure. I like the look of having the shifter exposed like this...

BTW this is the new **** I got.

It's a great ****. Very nice quality for $26.00 shipped. It is REAL CF too. You can tell by looking at it. It is weighted nicely.

Ok did a little experiment. Put my FC boot on the SA and it fits. Has a little space between the **** and the top of the boot, but oh well I kinda like it showing a bit of shifter. Has anyone bought one of these genuine leather ebay boots?
