Thats the IMSA 3 piece rear spoiler, was sold as a dealer option in 84/85. Pretty hard to find, but I think most of us will agree it goes really well with the car. I have one on my T2 83 and love it.

does anyone make a good substitute for it? I've seen a few that the sides don't go far enough forward.

Mazdatrix and Atkins Rotary both sell similar ones.

Like those guys said there are some similiar ones, most (if not all) are a 1 piece unit, which honestly is a lot easier, took quite a while to get my IMSA to look the way I wanted it to. They pop up on ebay every so often and on here, keep looking and you'll find one I'm sure. Expect to pay $125+ for a good one, maybe even more, its been a while since I've been in the market for one...

Agreed, I think they need at least something in the way of a spoiler to look right...

I Always was partial to that GTU style wing. It looked rather clean and well done. But I have to admit that this isn't exactly hard on the eyes either.
