Rare Parts?
Does rare aftermarket count ?
I have a red reflective rear finisher (the panel that goes between left and right rear lights) that DOES NOT read "Rx-7". I ordered it unmarked because for crying out loud, how many times around the car does it need to announce Mazda or Rx-7 ? I have never seen another one.

Ok, here are some pictures of tonneau covers that I have found. The first two look like they mount to the ceiling and cover the rear windows. The last one is like a typical SUV cover and rolls up.

I don't have a picture but apparently it was a chrome bar that mounted to the metal trim that holds down the carpet. I am quessing that it is 5 of 6 inches high and kept luggage from sliding into the rear seats or on top of cargo bins.

Seeing that i have a genuine GT-X my list includes:
- original turbo and savannah badges
- original savannah mats (black with red stripe)
- original sales slip from when it was new in Japan
- original adjustable Bilsteins
- I actually have 2 complete sets of rear seats
And of course, a genuine 12A Turbo, GT-X version with the later "impact" turbo.
The only thing the car doesnt have, is a sunroof and leather seats.

You all got me beat, but i'll still give my 2 cents...
-Glass Sunroof
-Original FLoor Mats
-ALL Service Records From 1987-Present (Including Oil Changes Every 4000km)
-I got the 3 piece stereo with the EQ and tape deck, and the fader by the window switches (Is that common?)
-I'm the ONLY one i know with functioning headlight washers
And.... This seems to be a rare combo; Silver Exterior with grey cloth interior.
I didnt like the black, or maroon interiors, they seem to fade. But my grey trim seems to have held up nicely againt the elements.

love the fender mounted mirrors....i plan on doing this once i repaint my car and add fender flares....and YES i will reinforce the fenders under it to help with the vibration dont worry. It will be a piece of cake...my dad has been doing body/paint work for like 35+ years.
Are we only talking stock parts?
I have the rear spoiler
Targa Band
Headlight sprayers (Canadian thing I think)
And I have an after market Weber 40IDF and intake manifold, and I've never seen another RX-7 on here with one.

How about a sun-shade rear glass spoiler, my brother got it for his GLS-SE @ the Mazda dealership in Puerto Rico when he got the car. and he later gave it to me when he sold the car
i have a rear seat in my 85gsl and twin weber down draft carbies. oh and glass sun roof with the cover... i pulled the flywheel, rad./fmoc and heater pipe from a 81-82 body to use on my 85gsl... these might not be to rare but knowing the combo and having the combo on this car makes it rare... did i ever tell ya'll i love my 7??? it ain't painted up and pretty, but i have had it for a long time.. i bought it from the second owner, and we get along real good...

Nobody ever said the rare parts had to be stock...
I've got an ISCRacing airbox. I got it shortly before they stopped listing it on their site and don't know if they're available anymore. Mine is the only car I've ever seen with one, or one like it.
My clear/opaque taillights are one of only 3 made like them. IoTus made a set for his car (that he sold, don't know who has it now), one set for DirectFreak and a set for me.
An immaculate condition Canadian owner's manual, printed in both official languages (English/French). There can't be many of those still in good condition.
I had a stock block heater. I threw it out because it was useless on my summer car, but it probably would be rare. It was the strangest thing, like a metal heating element that bolted around rotor1's spark plugs.
Ron Davis aluminum radiator. I don't know who else has one, but can't be many people. In fact, there wasn't even a picture of it on the website until after they made mine!
That about sums up my rare parts unless Dan Atkins' lenses, powdercoated + rims or FD alts with dual v-belt pulleys are rare.
Oh yeah, and a glass sunroof, of course!

Also an aftermarket rearseat, I have yet to see another like it.
I have a set of 83 LE wheels on my car (with the center caps, and special lug bolts), an original Mazda IMSA 3pc spoiler, the window sticker from my 83 S, and the owners manual (not that rare I know).
I had the IMSA air dam at one point, but sold it (wish I hadn't)
I'm sure I have some other random stuff, but those are the main parts.

i have two sets in maroon, one thin set from 85 in maroon, and a set of thick grey mats matching the two thick maroon mats that i have. i will pull the floor mats out of boneyard cars and buy them. i also will pull owners manuals as well. can never have too many of those!!
These items mentioned before, but I have original window sticker, shop manual purchased at the same time as the car (82), and the original Clarion stereo with equalizer (still works fine)
