Proper Jack placement/storage? Help

how in the world do you properly anchor the factory jack/handle and wrench?? I tried several different ways but it always ends up loose and rattles. Pics would help.....Thanks.

My recollection is that there is a metal band that slips over the slot in the jack. you just turn the jack by hand until it is snug against the band. The jack handle goes under the jack. I don't remember how I have my wrench secured, but I can look tomorrow. There is an illustration on page 4-8 of the '84 manual.

Yes - it goes in the rear passenger side light area and the band fits over. To keep it from flopping, turn the screw a couple of times till it's snug.

Right, I guess what I'm asking is:
how is the long handle and wrench held by the jack.? When I try to "pinch" them under the jack, it doesn't hold properly. Owners manual picture is terrible.
Anyone got one that's "stowed" properly and can snap and post a picture?

The handle gets pinched under the jack and the lug bolt removal tool in the bag is said to fit into a metal bracket between the tail lights. I usually just set the lug bolt tool in the bag on top of the spare tire's rim and cover it with the insulation and carpet. I'll see if I can dig up some pics.

When I bought my SE, the son of the original owner (who had passed), said one reason he was pricing it low because of the horrible rattle in the back end. Of course, it was just the jack and handle rattling around. But I didn't tell him that! LOL

My car has a small black bracket bolted to the floor over to the right hand side of the spare tyre well. One edge of the jack handle wedges underneath that bracket and the other end wedges against the jack from memory (I haven't kept a jack in the car for a long time)
