Thanks... I'm quite pleased with the Redline boots, outside of their lack of floor attachment provisions on the e-brake boot. I still need to install carpet snaps on the e-brake boot - got the proper snaps, looking for the time.
The thing in the lighter is a plastic dust cap that says "DC 12 V" on it. It just snaps in when the outlet isn't in use.
I have the pristine original lighter stashed way at home, as this is firmly a 'no smoking' car. The empty socket looks kind of naked, though, & the light is too bright at night. I find those euro-icon "no smoking" lighter plugs to be just a little too cliche'. This was a good compromise, I decided.

Yep;
It must be some hidden masochist streak in me, that I will work tirelessly at a project that, when it works out, becomes "invisible."
Next one on the plate will be home electroplating of lost/damaged chrome on the lug inserts in my waffles. Many years of on'n'off have worn the plating thru in places.
Still have the SA bin-bag patterns to publish, documentation of swapping the rear axle seals for you, and write-up of replicating the chrome trim for '80 door armrests.
All projects that nobody else will ever notice when done proper.
I'm nuts, I tell ya.
