New Seat Cover Suppliers for SA seats
Anyone suggest a good source for getting new covers made for the 79 high back seats ?
Lots of suppliers on ebay but not sure of quality. Possibly looking at custom cloth /vinyl or maybe leather .
I had great leather covers made for the 89 vert at leatherseats.com , but they don't do the early first gen seats .

The kits sold by Racing Beat look to be a great product. I am actually considering one of their reupholstery kits for my SE. It has leather seats that are in sad shape, and I hate leather almost as bad as I hate vinyl.
Considering the quality of other products offered by RB, I have no doubt these are of the same great quality.

yea , they definately look good , and a reasonable price .
Anyone actually seen them on a redone seat ?
the custom vinyl with cloth inserts is probably the way to go .
Now if I can only get them to match the LE greyish/blue cloth on the stock seats and door panels. Maybe I'll get some extra material sent and do the door panels to completely match the seat fabric and vinyl they have to choose from

I've been looking at them as well. They are not the correct fabric to match what the car was built with though. I found a company that has the correct fabric, but it is $69 per yard. Are there any companies that make the covers with the correct fabric?
ourxseven- If you find that Racing Beat will sell extra fabric to match everything, please post that they will. If I find out before you, I'll post.

Have you checked with your local upholstery shops to see if they can make them from scratch? Years ago I took my SA to an upholstery shop a couple of blocks from my house. I just wanted to have the cloth inserts replaced. When I picked the car up, the guy had made new seat covers from scratch for both seats! They look great and it didn't cost very much.
The only thing is now I wish I had thought to ask for the old seat covers back because they were the originals.

I had a local auto upholstery shop redo the seats in my Z. He used the old covers as a pattern and the new covers look oem, except for the color and fabric. Labor was 450 for the 2 seats. So far I've spent about 1100 redoing the entire interior on the Z which includes a complete color change, carpet and interior paint. Seats were the only labor paid out, the rest of the interior I've done myself.
