new & proud owner

hi all, im the new and proud owner of a 83 gsl rx7. pics tell more than i can say so here ya go. and only 900 for her as well!!!!

what i was told from previous owner is:

swapped in a JDM 12a powerplant
brand new oem clutch kit
drilled/slotted rotors all around
brand new tires with diamond racing rims(195/60/13's)
new shocks/struts/ 1 inch lowering springs
t2 bucket seats
new parts here and there

and a few small leaks here and there which will be fixed as soon as it starts to get warmer out.

but im also on the hunt for parts as well, and the first being a header. so far i love it! first one as well, and a lsd to have fun in. i plan to auto-x the car a bit. as well as possibly try a few drifts, though i dont want to hurt her just yet. lmk what you guys think!!

Definitely TII seats, looks like a nice ride.

And it does look lowered, so that makes sense.

Congrats!

Nice.. I'm jealous every time I see the 81-83 interior, I don't like my 85 interior. I mean who would be proud to own the one of only 2 years where the tac isn't centered in the gauge cluster? Nice car...

Definitely. I would pick my rex over a civic anyday, but that's me. On the other hand, my camry is my daily beater right now, so i can understand wanting to change it up.

Very nice. Not so sure about it being a JDM motor but it does have some nice tricks to it. I spy rats nest removed and a Direct Fire ignition. What kind of exhaust system is on the car now? My sugguestion is get an RB header and muffler and just put a straight pipe between them

yes rats nest is removed thank god!!! i was told a jdm motor swap but i dont have any way of telling as of now. i dont know what to look for? and direct fire injection? i know its carbed, lol!! as for the exhaust im not to positive yet. i know it has the stock manifold, ran to an aftermarket cat(which i hate btw), and to some brand of muffler. its to cold to jack her up and take a look so i just parked her. on the next semi warm day, anything above 30 degrees, ill take a look.

and the ignition im also trying to figure out. im doing my research by searching the faqs and technical sections and im finding some answers, but not all. oh, another part i added to my list of parts id like to get is a working quarts clock!!! That would be ****!!!

Hahaha not direct fire injection, Direct Fire IGNITION. That's a 2nd Gen leading coil thats used for the leading side. There's plenty of info on it

Yea notice some of the plugs are empty on your distributor. That's what he's talking bout.

BTW now is a good time to ask but does taking off the rats nest mess up the vac advance? Or is it no big deal with that.

i dont see it messing with anything at all. havent really had the time to look into it really since the weather has been real shitty(below 20* the past 5 days and colder). if tomorrow looks any better ill try to see.
