New Member, need help with parts

Hi, New member here. I am doing some restoration on my 83 limited edition. I need to find the following parts:

door/window felts
rubber seals for the doors
interior door panels, red/maroon as standard on the LE
left side rear marker light.
Dash pad

I have tried google searches, but all I find are performance upgrades, there will be a time for that, but my body man was able to work me in spur of the moment and I need to find these parts asap.

thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

Frank in Virginia.

Black Dragon and Mazdatrix are your best sources for most of that.

Black Dragon had the window seals.
Still looking for interior door panels and the driver side rear marker light lens.
Anybody got a used lens to sell?

You need to post your "Wanted" stuff in the Parts section.

All of that stuff is still available new from Mazda. I buy form the dealer on my parts account. Don't waste the money on the aftermarket stuff. Its not even close to oem quality.

plus the parts chain goes like this for the most part

either

Mazda Japan ->Mazda USA -> dealership -> vendor-> you, or

outside vendor->Mazda Japan -> Mazda USA -> dealership -> vendor -> you.

since just about every part needs to come from Mazda itself, the part is the same, and price correlates to the amount of middlemen involved.

there are exceptions, for instance an NGK spark plug is an NGK spark plug.

He's no longer going to find Door panels, dash pads and other trim pieces from Mazda. Some dealers might have a few pieces laying around, but they are NLA from Mazda themselves.

the big trim bits are NLA, but some of the little stuff isn't. no dealership has anything lying around either, there were people hunting for this stuff 10-15 years ago

I've been hunting for several trim pieces that are NLA for some time. Its just a matter of finding someone in the dealer parts chain that knows of somewhere that might have an NLA part in stock or know of someone that bought up the last few of those 10 years ago. Its like a treasure hunt of sorts. Kinda fun actually.

I've had some luck finding small trim pieces (like the power window surround) at Jim Ellis Mazda (Genuine Mazda Parts - Official Mazda Parts Dealer| Jim Ellis Mazda

Other parts I've found from Mazdatrix

But parts are drying up fast... I've had luck getting used parts from other members (recently found a really nice red steering wheel from the classifieds)

those two vendors just happen to list those parts, but you could look up the part number and go to any Mazda dealership in the world and order those parts.

nope, although i still have friends at the dealership. we're also racing a miata this year, so they support us there too. its nice, the competition dept is like 2 (cool) guys, so they fed us, gave us hats and then told us the strategy we should use to win. i mention it, because its more support than we ever got at the dealership.

i'm not sure why you asked, but an SA22 vin doesn't work in the Mazda computer anymore, so no warranty history, although sometimes you can call and see if someone is willing to go digging

I was just curious if you still worked there. No other reason. My parts guy at Mazda has no access to a catalog before 1986, so I have to bring in the part numbers or he can't look up a part. Kinda terrible given the amount of 1st gens still on the road.

lol, yeah thats right. typical Mazda USA too... we yelled at them for years because they had warehouses full of parts that we not in the catalog! how are we supposed to sell stuff if we can't look it up? its a problem they do not seem to understand.
