new beater/project
It's been awhile since I sold my turbo swapped 86 rx7, but now I am back into the rotary game! Always wanted a 1st gen, and when I found one on craigslist for 1k I couldn't resist.
(sorry for the big pic)
First thing I looked for was rust, there is some surface rust on the front panel where the bra is (thats coming off asap), a small amount near the tail light and some on the corner of the wheel well. Doesn't look bad though at all.
It starts up very quickly with no pedal at all, even when warm.. and the a/c blow cold :p
It comes with a big stack of receipts and paper work from the original owner and I am also getting some rear louvers with it.
First plan of action is to take off that damn bra and start sanding off the surface rust and do some minor body work. Then just rattle can the areas for now.
Also I want to do a full tuneup, and remove the rats nest.
Sometime soon I will get some tokico illuminas in there with some racing beat springs, and maybe a new exhaust setup.
Soo how did I do?

I dug through the stuff that came with it some more, I got quite a few mazda parts new in boxes, a new chin spoiler brand new from mazda, a roll of fabric to recover the seats, a big stack of paperwork from the owner and.... the leather case for the roof in excellent condition. Oh and I have the owners manual as well.
o yea and the louvers <3 already put them on, I really like the look of them
I will be posting lots of pics as I work on it more, already started fixing the surface rust on the nose where the stupid bra was. Tonight Im going to start ordering some parts
I love her already lol
Looking into a 350 swap
just playin

Pulled the plugs
Pulling it apart some to check a few things, I really need to get rid of all that emissions crap.
I dont feel like messing with that intake setup too much though, I think its going to get a s4 tII intake setup here soon. Then I will have to start working on getting a megasquirt or something in there.
Surely I will have lots of questions when I start working on that.
