Lol that car has popped up on Craigslist frequently over the last few months. I was thinking about checking it out as its by my hometown just to see what's so special about it or what the current owner is smoking to think it is worth that haha

If you do check it out I'd recommend they share what ever it is they are smoking and it may help get the asking prize lol

But I will point out one thing, the hood prop rod is on the right side so maybe get the last six in the vin it's obviously an earlier production car, they may go for OBO

Seems like they were in the 6k range but dealers were selling them for 10K.

When first introduced in 78, the base price for an S model was like $6,800. GS's were low 7's. Demand out stripped supply and the prices increased depending on region but yes, the dealers were keen to squeeze eager buyers for what they could. By the summer of 79, GS's were low to mid 9's out the door. A 79 Limited was like $10,200-10,400.

That was Jerry; he took runner-up in the 1st gen class with it. It's an 83, though - Tornado Silver, just like mine. Wish we could have parked side by side, would have made a great display.

Took this photo of the window sticker:

Yeah I'm developing a complex lmao (actually I need to step it up)

SS13 pulled in behind DD in the staging area and said to myself fooockkk

SS14 walk in to see my car next to Jerry's GSL and again said to myself fooock

SS15 I need to have mine 10 times nicer, already working on it, she has come along way in two years now to to accelerate

granted this one might actually have some collector value, if it happens to be one of the first 10 ever produced number wise. that '88 had zero collector value as a rarity.

problem with this one is mileage, even if it is one of the first with that many miles the price is going to take a huge hit.

I've had a number of people tell me that nobody ever wins two years in a row at SS; the judges like to mix things up. So your odds are improving just by not having won yet!

The sellers wife told him to 'put that old crappy car' up for sale or she would cut him off, huband agreed but she didn't say it actually had to sell.

thats how I got to keep my SA! I asked for two grand for the rolling shell. I got alot of laughs and smart comments from prospective buyers but I got the biggest laugh of all when the wife said I should just keep it.

PA Original Sticker Price

Here is my window sticker along with the dealer ticket showing out the door price on my '84 GSL. Mine was a little less because I couldn't afford the air conditioning when I bought it and didn't want leather seats.
