my pride and joy
Okay, so I'm 16 and my parents told me they werent going to afford to buy me a car like they orginally hoped. So I got myself a job and went car searching, being a fan of older, less computerized cars I saw this SA. I bought it for $300 and the guy told me it needed vacuum hoses and it would run. i changed the hoses shown in the pictures to blue and it looks nice. however this wasnt the problem it was electrical. The fusible link box lacked positive power to it. now i'm in the process of swapping out the gas tank and looking for a sending unit. This is my first real investment into anything, i bought the car myself and i fixed it myself and i'm very proud of myself and i love this car. tell me what ya'll think of her.
day i brought her home

the only thing thats really anybad on the car is the hood and the drivers seat. For now I dont have much money to work with so nothing at the moment but I want to get a new paint job, and defadently a turbo. I'm looking into getting a new rear end, I wanted posi trac and disc brakes. next on the agenda is to get a new sound system. I'll keep posting pics as the project ongoes.
Good for you man. You took initiative, set a goal and now have something that you can take pride in to show for it. The best rewards are the ones that you worked hard to earn. Keep it up and you'll go far in life.

Congrats. It looks to be in really good condition (the body).
I can see some rust like on your radiator shroud. Need to remove all the stuff and paint everything with POR 15.
Congrats on your 1st car and a nice classic 1st gen.

Radiator looks stock, and like it has boiled over yet. Great!!

I grew up driving RWD cars in rain and snow in the midwest, but I still remember the schooling my -7 gave me the first time I over-goosed it on an s-shaped freeway ramp (Sherman Way on-ramp to the 405 North) after a light rain.
Fishtailed it twice, almost spun it; I could see the eyeballs of the guy behind me flash by, big as dinner plates, out my side window. No warning at all before the back end broke loose.
Had to hammer the upholstery flat later, from the world-class pucker power that incident generated.
Go softly, till you're used to it.
thanks for the advice, my dad warned me about the wet weather driving tires are deff. a priority, the ones that are on there are not only bald but the tread came off one of the tires and its belts.
as for paint i want to go with a blue, on the lighter side.

And way to go on the purchase! Looks like a steal for $300. These cars are nice because they're not too hard to work on.
okay so she offically runs, could use a carb cleaning but i'm not complaining yet.
I didnt take it out on the road though the tire's belts are exposed and my dads a worry-wart.
I have also decided to paint the car cherry red with a flat black hood to match my truck.
