My new SII RX7 :)

Yoooo guys,

Just bought my second RX7 (first one was half I guess, S1 shell with no engine or gearbox) for just over $800 AUD! Went to get it and the battery was flat so I bought a new one and bought it, the battery went flat so I had to buy a new alternator and my mates and I put it in on the weekend and all is running perfectly now

Here are some specs on the beast.

12a 6 port engine, 100/100 compression with extractors and exhaust system. Automatic gearbox (will rip the gay *** auto out very soon) and an interior which isn't so nice, but easily fixed Oh and it has secondaries welded on, fuel comes out of the exhaust haha it's great.

The dash has quite a few cracks in it and some are quite large, so I'll be buying a new one in due time. Seats are quite nice except for one rip in the drivers seat but that's no worries because bucket seats will be put in with 4 point harnesses I ripped the back seats out. Everything else inside the car is awesome, all gauges are still working as well as the original radio :P

The outside of the car is in great nick, rust on the hatch was professionally fixed and looks great now. A few bits of rust like on the drivers door and right hand front guard but I'll put new panels on anyway which will be aiight. Paint is awesome and very very clean, a one owner car with 153 thousand k's :O

Exhaust sounds nice and she drives sooooo nice, can't believe how nice it is.

Anyway, to the pictures and the video!

<object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dDVfy-6CdlY"> </param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dDVfy-6CdlY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> </embed> </object>

Got some big plans for her, suspension, brakes, 13bt with high flow, new computer, rims, paint, seats, gearbox, stereo(something small, no subs), pretty much the whole deal I guess.

Hope you enjoy, I'll keep you all updated.

Mark

Nice find. More pictures of the engine bay! By the looks of it, it has the 4 port 12A air cleaner on it. Do you know for sure it's a 6 port motor? Good luck and welcome!

Hey mate, I will get some pics of the engine bay soon

I'm 99% positive it's a 6 port because the guy who put the engine in is a well known and respected member of ausrotary.

It goes pretty hard but will be taken out for an s5 13bt

Update and pics on the 7

Thinking there is something wrong with the fuel filter, car cuts out for a second when I plant my foot, will replace it ASAP.

Found an S3 front guard, anyone know if it will fit straight on?

Went looking for rust the other day, unfortunately there was some hiding under the actual seal on the hatch, so I'll be getting rid of that very soon, can't stand having it there. Will probably get a new piece of metal welded in over it, I think the way Mazda designed it was pretty hopeless, it's just asking for rust.

Still waiting on some funds to put the manual in and get a new door, but soon enough it will all be done and ready for the modifications.

Anywho, here are some pics

Hope you enjoy, will get better and better.

the 6 port air cleaner housing is black and says the same. the 4 port is the common blue air cleaner.

Hey guys, thanks for the comments

Won't be bothering with the air filter, putting a 13bt in anyway :P

No idea on the colour code, but the paint is great for a car of its age.

Oh and the auto thing, I do mention it in my first post :P I feel so ashamed of having an auto RX7, don't you worry though, it'll be out VERY soon \m/

Another update:

Since I'm waiting for some money to come in, I thought I'd get to work on the interior since it was a bit dodgy. Only did a little bit, but I painted the plastic parts in the car black, looks a lot better than the brown. Will be doing the rest soon, and yes I will be doing the dash. Also going to do the door upholstery myself.

It was pretty easy, I just cleaned the surface with meths and sprayed one coat of black and then a coat of clear. Came out quite well

Here are some pics:

Found a gearbox, just a series 1/2 hybrid one, will do for the while until I put the 13bt in. Just waiting on a reply from the guy.

Thanks

Either someone modded it already or it came that way. Just curious because I am dealing with emissions issues on my rust bucket.

Anyway nice car it's in great condition. Might want to clean up and seal that rust developing in the eng compartment.

Cheers

Hard to say. I think the hot side of the S5 is bigger than the turbo on the 12A. A hybrid S5 turbo would do very awesome

Yo people,

Little update:

Manual pedal box and clutch master cylinder arrived today. Gotta source an accelerator pedal for it. Can I get the one off my auto box? Anybody know?

Cheers

Took the dash off yesterday, my god was it an epic battle. Grabbing a new one off my mate for free this weekend, has one crack which I'll patch up.

Air con's coming out and probably taking out the radio and speakers, going to have it pretty much gutted.

Coming along very slowly but give it time

Will try and post some pics tonight
