Hmmmm.... nice pics... I was looking at them when something clicked... Mesquite trees in the background. That's when I noticed your location. I used to live off of Mission Rd just north of Irvington in the small foot hills.

Do they still cruise Speedway there and have the illegals out by the airport?? (It's been 20 years since I was there) My brother still lives out there.

Back on topic... what was the hardest thing about getting it running? I have a chance to pick up an sbf drivetrain or else a 2.3T drivetrain... Just wondering what gave you so much trouble...

Thanks,
Bill

I like this, It pertains to my interests! I Was originally planning this kind of thing for my RX7 Engine swap for something with pistons... But i decided against it for an engine rebuild, Though it is kewl to see that it can be done, Perhaps it i ever start a second project!

hhahaha, yeah they still have the illegags, however its not on speedway anymore. the cops have been coming down really really hard the whole race scene so its pretty hard to find if you dont know people.....

as you said back on topic.... the swap is possibly the easiest thing i have every done. my fc's na --- >t was much more difficlut than this swap. the hardest thing for me was making the clutch assembly. i didn't want to do what the site suggested for a pull style conversion clutch so yeah... had to do a little fabricating. it wasn't too bad. the other was figuring out a minor electrical issue that i had but that about it. the motor fits really nicely. the other minor issue was finding a radiator that i liked. it all eventually came together though. the site i got the mounting kit from told you how to do everything, however i opted to be origional and did everything except the mounts my own way. here the sit eif your interested.

well dyno'd witht he 12 a at like 86 hp and 78 torque.... and i ran a 19.9 in the quarter at 67 lolololol/....
no for sure numbers yet with my new set up but im looking probably around 180 -190 horse and about 250-260 torque... i did take my car to southwest international speedway once. through out the day i made 5 passes....
17.3 with a 3.5 sixty ( this was the only pass i made in first gear)
14.9 with a 2.7 sixty
14.6 with a 2.6
14.6 with a 2.6
14.3 with a 2.4
ran a 14.3 at 99 with a 2.4 sixty foot on 175/70/13's ..... and i live in az...... and it was a second gear launch....however i eventully just blew the rear end up (it was just a welded diff). im expecting at very least a 13.5 with slicks, a rear end, and around a 1.9 sixty foot ....

also my motor's completly stock......so if i get heads cam and intake that bumps me up to 340 whp and 370 torque.... then i throw just a 100 shot on and that bumps me to 420 hp and 480 torque....

480 is mucho > than 180.... ill be looking for tens....

the best part of it is that i actually built this car as a drift/ autocrossing car.....

however it happens to already be taking down ls1 firebirds and camaro;s and when someone does beat me and brags... i just laugh because my entire project including both cars, the swap, the suspension on my car and the paint has cost me all under-------------------------

2600 bucks!!!!
