My first FB
1982 GSL in silver.
230K on the odo, supposedly rebuilt 40K ago. ( no receipts )
Has been sitting since 2001. (original owner did not know what was wrong with car)
I Bought her from a nice man who bought it from the original owner. (he only had it for 6 months)
Turns out the clutch slave and master cylinder were shot and thats it!
Initial feelings about the car:
This is the second RX-7 I have owned and I must say it is better than my 1987 S4.
It just feels more refined in the quality of the parts. Even though it is a 12A , it just pulls very hard! The steering wheels kind of loose but its okay with no power steering. Engine idles great once warm. The sound is amazing with stock muffler. Couldnt be happier.
I have gotten used to the choke start up mechanism so far. I have changed the manual fluid (was very nasty !!!) to 75W90 Royal Purple. Next is the diff. I am running Pennzoil 10W30 conventional and putting in 2 Cycle oil in my gas fills.
any other tips you guys can tell me to take great care of her are appreciated!
The cons: Rear bumper is bent, trim between taillights are cracked, bent antenna wont go up and down, passenger power window doesnt roll up, center console armrest is kinda broken. A/C needs recharge.
NOW FOR THE PICS!

Thank you! Yeah when I saw her...I had to buy her!
The interior is pretty clean for a 30 year old car. It does help that it hasnt been tampered with for 10 years though.
But I am surely surprised that everything works...electronics wise. Just that antenna and power passenger window.
Im not too sure what to do with her besides drive her to work.
But im itching to modify! but she already runs so well. haha

nice car! SA > FB > FC > FD....
all the stuff that's wrong is the normal stuff, and its all easy to fix. the center console usually the spring just pops off, so you just take it off and put the spring back. everything else you need to just replace
it is probably a repaint, we get a lot of sun in CA, so usually the paint on the roof dies first

Bump on the inner fender comment. My FB in Minnesota here has no rust holes, rot, or even surface rust. But I pulled my storage compartments to run some wires and sure enough I found one spot thats about the size of a quarter thats rusting. Most people wouldn't check for that, good point orion84gsl

Will be heading to the local pick and pull tomorrow. There are 3 FB's on the lot that have been there for 2 weeks.
