A solo trip to sevenstock doesn't sound so bad. Just you, a 7 and the open road... it's a movie waiting to happen.

Update
So the last I spoke I got her running but she wouldn't idle below 1500 rpm's. Then I plugged some vacuum leaks and did some adjustments got her to idle at 850 but not very smooth, some sputtering, and when I drove it, she wouldn't go above 5000 rpms. It was like driving an old VW Beattle.
A couple days ago I took the carb off and decided to remove the vacuum secondaries and plug the hole. I also removed the Shutter Valve inside the intake manifold and plugged those holes. Then I did the Manual Secondary mod with some wire and re-installed the carb. Only this time I used the two gaskets that came with the rebuild kit above and below the spacer.
I started her up and what do you know, she actually idled a little better.
I let her warm up to N.O.T. and shut her down. I removed all 4 plugs and turned the engine to TDC. Then I filled each chamber with Seafoam. Let it soak 5 minutes and turned the engine backwards 360 degrees and filled it again, wait 5, turn, fill, wait, etc. I did 6 full rotations. I put the plugs back in and fired her up.
A large puff of smoke and some popping, then I drove her on the road. HOLY CRAP, she had power! I ran it up to red line in 1st gear and then 2nd gear and had to slow down because I was already 30 over the speed limit.
I think the decarbonizing and the secondary mod really helped. I noticed the front rotor seemed OK as I turned the engine and watched the seafoam pour out, but the rear rotor had lots black crap pouring out with it.
The mechanical secodary mod is amazing. I should have done that years ago. Yes, you have to know how and when to use it but it really makes a difference.
So now that she is running in tip-top shape I need to finish the exahust and get some new shocks.
The exhaust right now is the stock manifold to 2.5" pipe into a Magnaflow cat into 2.5" pipe back to a Magnaflow muffler. It sounds deep and aggressive at idle and holds that tone under load, but inside the car it has the annoying droning sound. I can't handle it. I don't know if that is purely from the muffler or if I have some exhaust leaks somewhere.
I should have some new pics and video soon.

Lives on the Forum
Now that you've done the "major" seafoam treatment, in the future just dump it into the gas tank as a way to keep the carbon under control and retain the benefits.
A header will really liven the car up now that you've done all the other work to it. Just don't get a pacesetter header, anything else will work well. They are often found in the for sale section of the forum.
If you are looking for shocks (or any other suspension parts), I would recommend taking a look at www.re-speed.com Great shop to deal with, and usually the best prices.
Looking good man! Now you've got to bring her up to Michigan for some autocross fun.

that sounds good that you got that figured out, but I was wondering if you rebuilt the engine or you just cleaned the crap out of it? because I'm getting ready to work on my 83 that has been sitting for 5 years.... ~sad~ I'm pretty sure my engine is ok.....but who knows, I haven't done much testing on it yet cause I have to put a new rear axle and rear end assembley. so that'll be fun. looking forward to what you have to say.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. Ken, how often do you add the seafoam to the gas tank? Once a month, once a year?
Pauly, it's never been rebuilt as far as I can tell. 113K original miles. I don't know a lot about the history of the car but from what I have learned it seems it had been sitting for some time. After my experience with the seafoam I would suggest doing that first. A $10 can of seafoam is a hell of a lot cheaper than a $900 rebuild kit and the time it takes to tear it down. Are you doing a LSD swap or just replacing what is in there?

The axle I'm putting in is from a 82 gsl and it is lsd. I bent my internal axle when i had the accident. The whole rear end moved over a inch or so so that really suck. it's funny.....cause when i got the axle from the deliver driver I looked and it still has the LSD sticker on it from when it was put on... cool.. Well you did a really good job cleaning it and making it look really good, hope mine turns out that pretty.
