Moving Power Window Switches
I've got an 84 Gsl-Se. I've decided to remove the center console below the shifter and relocate the power window switches to the area where the ashtray used to be. The stereo is long gone and the car could use more space between the race buckets. I'll be making a custom insert to mount new switches like the one below, as the factory ones are hard to secure
I'm a bit dumb when it comes to wiring. I can replicate the existing wire bundle without too much trouble, but I'm not sure how to wire up a switch like this. I'm assuming it's not too complicated, but I don't want to short anything out in the process. Has anyone else done this?
Thanks
Dave

I plan on moving mine. I'm gonna see if I just cant remount the factory ones and extend the wiring. They make a lot nicer universal window switches. Im looking at these, its a set of 2mirrors momentary switches, so I'll need 2 of them. Kinda pricey. Billet Switch - Speedway Motors, America's Oldest Speed Shop
Still need the bezel...?
If you're not going to be needing the plastic bezel that holds the switches and the joystick, care to sell it?
Does it still have most of the tabs that hold it in?

When you get the switch, make sure it can handle 20-30 amps and its a dual throw momentary switch. This way if you "forget" to move the switch to the off position, it wont burn the motor up. With a momentary switch, it will reposition itself to an off position.
The switch would be ON-OFF-ON.

The tabs on the original bezel are broken off. That's one of the reasons why I'm moving the switches. Aside from the broken tabs, the piece has no damage. Once I have the switches moved over into their new home, I won't have much use for the bezel, or the center console piece.
