Dont know too much about the stock radio as mine didnt have it in there. 79 also brought a limited edition with different wheels and a charcoal / Black color only optioned on the 79 LE. Which I have a full set of 5 if anyone is interested. P.S. ****** up that 79 in a condition like that Book value is around $7,000 even though people wont pay that much cheapo rotary owners....But hey the VMRC is based out of CT and as you can see we have a few SA's you could check out this coming year and with no emissions on these Vintage Rotaries the Sky is the limit!!!!
Um, there was no '78...not in America. I got the 2nd '79 model (3/78 build date) sold at my local delearship, on May 25th, 1978.

Even if it only has 30k miles, the car is most likely all original which means everything in it is nearly 30 years old.
Typically, "all original" means big $. For some reason it hasn't happened with these cars. Probably because they built it too well and there are too many still around. Mine still has original heater hoses (just replaced the radiator hoses, belts, and brakes a couple of years ago)...that type of thing would usually bring big points in a car show...doesn't seem to mean much on these. I wish I had developed an interest in Mopars lol

Well it does if the original is in mint condition not used. Yes they can fetch 5k. There was a silver SA with 8000 miles that sold for $6500 last month. It was factory condition. And I think that still sold cheap..

OK...but that's peanuts when you consider I paid $7,000 for mine brand new and have kept it in nearly original condition (54,xxx miles). These are not cars to make money on...and that's ok. I'm just making the observation. If I had bought a Mopar and kept it in the condition that my SA is in, it would be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. And I'm ok with that too...just making the observation.

Just because someone paid 6500 for one doesn't mean that they are worth the money. There's a sucker born every minute. In the sports car world, there are much better performers to be had for $6500. Why buy an 8k mile 79 when you could buy an SE in great shape with that budget??

Is the 79 a great car? absolutely, a great cheap car, but not a $5k car. Sorry.

Any pics around of that "mint" Silver SA with only 8,000 miles that sold for $6,500?

Was that the car in Az? I would love to see pics of that car. Wish I could have found it first.
