Just wondering, why didn't you go with a parallel fuel rail setup? It looks like a killer car!

plans? to enjoy it, spin tires, annoy "supercars", annoy the neighbors.., annoy ppl that have to ride behind me running premix muahaha..in short enjoy it

really, i dont go to the stip very often, nor do i feel like breaking it there...always has horrible traction issues at the track yet hooks up fairly well on asphalt....go figure..i dont have nor will i put drag radials on it, it would just explode the diff and cost more money so no point.
i would like to autoX but not the 7...that would be a handfull at best...my miata would be more fun for that methinks. but then again...this is florida, its miserably hot 11.9 months of the year and not many autoX events to speak of.

its just a powerfull weekend car to torment the population with hehe

and Dan...that widebody...is......very nice car. wish i could stuff tires like that under mine.. i have absolutely as much rubber as wil fit and not look stupid, the 15x8 +35 rims with 245/50/15 dunlops fill what is there and dont stick out..but that is the limit, there is a looming danger of a scrub on the wheelwell if i was to hit something hard enough(lets hope i never hit anything at all) and not enough room on the inner clearances to place your hand in the gap.

as for the rails...not sure what you mean by that, take a look at my intake pic in the album maybe that will answer your questions, the intake is a 12a IDA lower modded for the 2 injectors on center ports, with a fabricated upper with the 4 injectors on top pointing downstream.

man this forum is screwy...:/ half the time i cant log in grrr...but anyway

ya only the first gen crowd can understand the meaning of torment the way we do hehe

"Oh look at the ricer next to us in the little car with the little motor" thinks the mustang owner..then as ya pull past them..BAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHppSHHHH

they always have the WTF? look

these things are hard to find parts for...hard to fit wheel onto...painstaking to tune..and not exactly cheap...but thier novelty more than makes up for it.

I once saw a Tshirt that said...Old mazdas never die...they just go faster
think that sums it up

I feel ya bro. I love waxing a new Mustang, Corvette, or whatever. I have about 10 grand in my car. That really makes them sick Anybody can "buy" horsepower, but it feels so much more rewarding when you "make" it out of a Rotary.

ya its sort of a love/hate thing...ya cuss every time it fouls the plugs...and really cuss when you have to buy new plugs....ya let out that familiar sigh when you know you just munched an apex seal...and you accept the fact that you have to stop for gas more than most big block cars. but every time ya step into it it makes ya smile...every time

i get amused at the wubwubwubwub sound when under decel and the slight ring from the compressor wheel and it tickles me when i take "new" ppl for a ride that have no clue what is about to happen as you start the ride under easy throttle where as we all know a rotary has no torque at all so it feels flat and unresponsive and ya get that glance and you know they are thinking..."this sure doesnt feel very fast" then pull out of a light and gun it and watch them grab for something to hang on to muahahaha its always the same thing outa thier mouth "HOLY SH*TT!"

Just what I mean is that from your pictures it appears that the fuel lines run from the first secondary rail, into the second, and then into the primary rail. Just from reading and research I have done, if you are using up all of the fuel with your secondaries you can starve your primary injectors causing a lean condition.

The way I have my fuel rails hooked up is a parallel system meaning I have a Y block splitting into two feeds that seperately feed each rail and then each feed goes from the rail to the fuel regulator. Basically elimating the starvation that could be caused by large injectors.

Just interesting to see how you have done it, looks very clean as is, just figured I would ask.

Also for interest sake how did you mount your laptop inside of your car? Looks very good and beats my "throw the computer where ever" method.

ahh i see what you mean, ya i had thought about that but already had the fittings to do what i did, its actually into the primary then up to the secondary rails, but same thing really, its just one big rail essentially. i figure if it gives me trouble ill address it as needed, if it effects it, it will only be under high power conditions and im not to that point yet, i have so far just been able to get it to idle and move back and forth without throwing a tantrum.
but yes i agree with you on a balance type system but i think it will be ok, if not is no biggie to mod, thanks for the concern tho
had a hell of a time getting the tec unit to talk to the laptop when engine was running, turns out it was a windows update issue and my wintec software wasnt compatible with SP3, so after finding that out this week i removed sp3 and now i can tune with onfly and its starting to work much better.

as for the laptop bracket i got it on ebay, its "ok" though i think i would rather just make one next time as i can do alot better, but it has one good feature as its easy to remove, and ya after messing with other cars having the laptop sliding around and all that, the bracket is a great little thing to have so long as you dont want a passenger...dead weight anyway

i like the brackets the police cars have alot more...but i havent found the source for them, but ebay has several options or just fabricate one.

idles a bit better now, took it around the block a few times this weekend, had to raise the suspension was scrubbing my rear tires....ya just cant have a nice low ride on the street without huge $$$ to mod the suspension and stuff the tires. and even then....

gotta go to the DMV and get the plates for it so it can go to the dyno for tuning, im so not going to try to tune and drive this again...dyno much safer.

been so long since i drove it...not used to the no power steering and that heavy *** clutch...as compared to the stock miata i drive daily...BIG difference. sad thing is the miata has about three times as much off idle torque...going back into the rotary with a bronze clutch, light flywheel and nearly 3k pound plate is a culture shock
might install an IAC eventually to reduce stalling a bit..but once its tuned i pretty much drive it aggressively enough to not worry about stalling often hehe, just being tender with it at the moment.

FYI the exhaust can be seen in my album, its 3 inch from the down to just around the rear of the doors where it necks out to 4 inch, middle muffler is a chambered flowmaster style from summit with center inlet offset outlet, rear muffler is one i got from ebay its a straight thru 4 inch can, an OBX i believe, that i put a longer tip on to clear the bumper, had to run the pipe tight under the rear since it wouldnt go above it..:/ it clunks occasionally when i come in the steep driveway...but who cares it sounds cool
