When I was running a stock port 12a, I built my first exhaust system with 2 1/2" sprinkler pipe with a 3" chrome exhaust tip on it. It was an 18" long straight pipe system. BTW I race a sand rail with the motor mounted sideways with a snowmobile clutch drive. We had a combo-port motor built (full bridge-port with full peripheral port but never got around to debugging it yet) Built a 30" header system that flared out to take a 3" cherry bomb on the end to try to quiet it down. Current motor is a full Bridgeport 12a, Header is built with 2 1/4" pipe. I have a pair of cherry bomb cored welded onto the tips with a chrome tip on each to sort-of quiet it down. I launch at 5800 rpm's and twist it to 11,800 rpm's.

That sounds like a badass build! I like the centrifugal clutch idea.
I'm still not to sure exactly how I'm gonna do it all yet, as far as my exhaust goes?
But I want to save weight, so I probably won't get to crazy.
