<-- that's an SA.

It's now a work in progress. Needs a whole front end refitted and will be changed back to the original spark yellow color...just as soon as there's time and money to afford it. The epsilons are still good, though.

<-<-<- that is a 1980 SA. Haven't gotten her running yet, not sure of the original color (Tornado, maybe). Definitely a work in progress. Will get a picture of the silver 79 soon...

Here's a picture of the silver 79...My Dad seems to think it's an 80 although I do have a car which has 1980 manuals and such in the glove box and the tag is below the bumper instead of between the lights...anyone have any info on that??
Build date on this one is 3/79 and 1/80 on the green one in my avatar...

^^^^It's a 79. You can also look on the Catalyst sticker on the hood and it will tell you what model year it is. I'll get some new pictures of my SA today, it's about 4 colors but it only has 69K original miles!

heres a bunch of my '79 limited edition. Its been repainted in its past to a brilliant black , but it is currently getting some body and paint back to its original E-6 paint code "Beat Black" metallic black which was unique to the 3000 LE's shipped to North America in early 1979. Its more of a charcoal / dark grey colour.

The LE has a few other unique appearance differences than other models, black and light blue upholstery, digital clock , special almex rims, upgraded stereo with cassette, separate amp and 4 speakers. Nothing unique about engine or other mechanicals.

kymber, the easiest way to tell the difference between a 79 and 80 it that the 80 will have two black rubber nubs below the rear bumper's rub strip.

What about the tag placement? I'll look for those nubs, but because of all the manuals and such in the glove box of the green car I'm sure it's an 80. It's just that the tag is between the lights on the 79 and it's below the bumper on the 80, just like my 82 and 83...So does that mean that all 7's with the tag between the tail lights are 78 or 79?

Oh wow! looking at the pix side by side it almost looks as though the tag on the 80 was between the lights originally! Am I right??? hmmm....Dad is already trying to steal that back piece from me for the 79 and now it actually looks like it would fit. Let's just not tell him, shall we? LOL

That's right, Kim. Stock, the '80 looks just like the '79 on the back. That piece you have is aftermarket and fills in that indentation in the center. The piece will fit the '79 or the '80.

The old SA.........Wow, I can finally show the "track car" off. I am in the process changing most of the interior over to the S3 stuff. The dash is already swapped. The engine and trans are FB. I also stole the LSD out of a FB rear end, and used it in the SA drum rear end.
