Leather Sport SA Ghost....

sighted behind a B&B in Taos, NM, Nov. 2011
Sadly, parked/abandoned in 08 according to the plates. Baking there ever since...
Peculiar placement of LS badges on B-pillar confirms re-spray, now peeling in sheets.
Unmolested other than NM sun.

I live in Alamogordo and if I had room to store this 7 I'd go see about rescuing and do a full factory restoration on it. so sad to see it sitting and baking.

Miles? Running or Not? Price?. . . .

I own a mostly Brilliant Black one, other than what the sun has taken from thirty years.

I will add this, if it's been a NM car all it's life the more mild climate will have left the shell in quite good shape as far as the sheet metal goes interior will need tlc mechanical parts will be an unknown but, it may be worth it to restore just because of the lack of cancer.

restorer's I salute you!
This would be a big, money-pitted project, but as said, good chance the chassis is solid. But that's about all I can say. Damn shame.

Car was locked, no one around at the time (its at a B&B in Taos) so mileage, reason for parking unknown. 3yrs+ on plate sticker suggest likely the motor has gone south. No "for sale" signs, etc.
Just sitting in the parking lot behind the house.

If someone seriously wants to reach out to the owner, I have someone in Taos who could at least get the name of the B&B owners and see where that leads...

Dave, I have Plans for that ONE LS piece I have (and it should be noted it now has 4 NOS brothers!)

I'd rather see it sitting in the dry desert heat, going all Cheech on us, than have it rot away in the rust belt like a meth-head's teeth. The steel will be good, which is more than can be said about most northern FB's. If anyone has information on it (and I find a job/funding), I have a relative that regularly brings rust-free cars (specifically IH Scouts) from the desert southwest to my Uncle who restores them....hmm...

Stu,
Is the said person in Taos mechanically inclined? if so, would this person be willing to help us LS owners out? the body might be trashed, but if we could get some parts off it (like seats) that would be great.

I have a set of the same seats in the same color .... did they only come in the LS? i was going to do them in black and put them in my car but would rather have my plaid seats re done once I find the right pattern

Never talked to anyone at the B&B - just waltzed in, snapped the pix and left...
Being a rather fancy B&B I would be surprised if they would part it out and have a disassembled car clutter the place, more likely would want the whole car gone. Guessing....

13x - yes I believe those ARE LS leather seats, since I have never seen that color in later leather FB seats! Would be a shame to dye as these look to be in good shape. No rips or splits?
