ok. cool man. yeah, i went ahead a test fitted them to make sure, and yeah you weren't kidding about a tight fit, about a .070" clearance between the tire and the spring.

I didn’t notice a lot from going to a different rim, my old ones where custom Keystones 13x6 with Pirellis Touring(Don't know the tire number, P something). But I really like the BFGs, nice and sticky but they like to pick up stones. The tires defiantly outperform the Pirellis all around (traction, handling). And the best thing about the tires is they handle the same in the rain as they do in dry conditions.

like ^ stated you wont notice much performance changes from the wheels, except maybe a slightly heavier steering feel. You'll notice a drastic difference in tires. It might scare you how much more planted the car is in corners. And the sidewall difference will be noticeable.

thanks guys....while i was fitting up the new stuff i couldn't help but notice the weight difference between the konig's and my factory waffles with yokohama advans, the konig's are probably about twice as heavy.

I should have weighed them to compare, but the difference didn't seem that great to me.
The old non grippy junk tires were fun to slide around on, the new ZE502s are fun to defy gravity with.

don't forget as well that the extra weight of the konigs (I believe they are 15 lbs.) is even more than just the straight weight , but the rotational mass ( or weight) of a 15" rim is substantially larger than a stock 13" . The Konigs are really just for appearance and possibly to give more tire choices .... a similar tire on a 13" rim will give you more bang per H.P. You essentially reduced the HP of your engine going to 15" rims.
That being said I have some konigs ready to go on as a second set of wheels for the 79.

Very happy. The Respeed CO front #200 and rear #125 definately made a difference from the stock setup. I kept the stock 13 rims and tires (185/70) after the suspension change and the car is much stronger in the turns and feels much tighter ( this still with steering / ball joints that needs some work too) . I did notice a rougher ride in the *** at low speed over small bumps etc. and a few more rattles as a result (ie moonroof lock). It is also lower by 1" (13 " from center cap to fender lip) and it is noticeable when you look at it It made a definate change for the better, but I wouldn't want it any stiffer for spirited street driving.

Konigs
Hey guys, my girl is gonna buy me some bbombs for Xmas and I was wondering what tire size I will need. I saw all the tire sizes you guys were posting up, but I have a 74 RX3. I know you all are 1st gen guys, but any info will help.....thx

79 SA with rewinds
I just purchased a set of rewinds (silver) The back of the rims are stamped 4x100 so I thought they sent me the wrong ones. I called in to check and was told Konig somtimes stamps their rewinds 4x100 but are actaully 4x110. Sure enough, the rims fit on my SA. Now I need to get some tires. I see that most are running 205-50-15. Sounds great to me if I had $400 laying around. I can get a set of 205-60-15 Michelin tires pretty cheap. Do you think they will fit?

I don't know if the 205 / 60's would fit, but it was funny to see my old post come up. I've been very happy with my Rewinds and Falkens.

Going to bring this one back from the dead. Thinking about rewinds with 195/55/15 BFG G-Force up front and 225/50/15 in the back. According to Discount Tires calculator this will make the back tires .42 inches taller and 1.18 inches wider. I have always liked the idea of staggered tires and any time I am out goofing off I will slap on the stocker to burn off.
They will be going on my SA that is still in the works, stock springs for now, they will get trimmed after the tires go on. Anybody running 225/50/15 on the back of an SA? Your thoughts on this set up? Out the door at Discount is $980 (befor my nephew hooks me up).
