Considering the multitude of free advertising sites on the internet, why not take advantage of all of them? Post here, craigslist, and possibly vehix and auto trader, facebook, where ever.

The best question you can ask yourself is "who do I want to see these vehicles go to?" Posting here it will most likely go to a enthusiast, rather than posting elsewhere and it going to someone who will buy it not knowing what it is, etc.

Bob

Let me know where you end up advertising. Slim chance, but I might be interested if the price is right and I can make the purchase before the wife finds out.

Rx7club classifides, Craigslist, Ebay, Autotrader, local newspaper, or just put a 4-sale sign in the window and park it at the end of your street.

Oddly - people come to me and ask if I want to sell; and my cars not for sale. So, some times you don't have to do anything! But it sounds like you might have some offers from this thread alone..................make sure you post a price (hehehehe) or the moderator ***** will close the thread. (Thats just some classifides humor.....only kidding)

I assume you mean by "not advertising", you mean you don't want to pay. That makes perfect sense. That said, I think you are in the EXACT spot you should be, an enthusiast forum. I have bought and sold countless niche cars on sites just like this one. And from the responses you have gotten already, well, you can see why.

There is also a lot to be said for parking the car in a local high school parking lot near the road with a "FOR SALE" sign in it with your phone number and price.

Good point Shabba. I assumed "not advertising" meant he wasn't advertising in this thread so the mods don't dump it in the classifides.

Bring the car to a local club meet or track day. Put the sign in the window and talk to people and let them know you are trying to sell. Trying to sell a car w/o advertising might be difficult. Advertise it in the classifides section here - post pics and all the info on them. It should sell quickly. The price always determines how fast it sells. Price it right and it will be gone tomorrow; if not today!

the best way to sell them is to advertise and when listing, be completely honest as a seller. be flexible to potential buyer's schedeules and entertain offers. the market isnt great for selling any RX these days. i've had a beautiful 80 Leather Sport for sale for over a year now with little interest.

Not to mention that this isn't exactly the ideal time to sell a sports car in Michigan

the first Line should read:
This car will KILL a Mustang!..(put a Reasonable price on it,and you are Done!)..Just Kidding.I had to!..lol!
Personally,I put up the good and the bad.I ignore Lowballs and Idiot questions and I Prefer that the car go to someone who has some knowledge of a rotary engine.
.Put it up on Craigslist,etc..and HERE on the Forum.
If you care about your hard work, then Do Not sell it to a teenager that will Buy it to "kill it".
Good Luck,I hope that Little bit helps.STYX.

Something else to consider is when you do an ad, do a complete ad. Pictures, good pictures, sell a car. Usually enthusiasts know what that is...a good front shot of the entire car with no other cars in the picture, a side shot, interior and motor shots and anything else that conveys what you are selling to the potential buyer. FULL DISCLOSURE is a must. Believe me, you might turn people off when you mention the car has peeling clearcoat (or whatever ails the car, that's just an example), but the people who do respond (and they will) are the people with the money and desire to buy. When I bought my RX here in Richmond, the guy I bought it from knew nothing about the car except he liked it. However, he fully disclosed to me all the issues known to him and as a result, I bought it on the spot. Honesty sells as do really good pictures.

Best way to sell the rx3 is to let me have it for $100.

This is some DAMN GOOD ADVICE!

And I will attest to the full disclosure deal. An honest seller who is up front with everything will draw buyers not lowballers. When I sold several of my 7's - the more honest I was, not only in the ad, but when they came to see it, they took my asking price and didn't haggle. Remember when people buy a car they haggle to compensate for unseen repairs that the seller is hiding. You tell it like it is, and they know what to expect and the "unknown" factor is gone. They feel comfortable - trust your maintenance - and buy with confidence.

Anyone else notice Bob (the OP) hasn't checked back in on his own thread?

With all due repect to this site, it's not the best place to move a car. Craigslist is has been most successful for me.

Hmmmm....reading the post above yours, I might think otherwise!

It appears to me that he might have some buyers just out of this thread alone!

But Craigslist is probably a faster way to move it locally.
