Help me choouse wheels color scheme
Hi,
I had some wide wheels seating around, and I finally decided to do a wide body FB(just for looks till s4t swap). I got the wheels when I bought my last 84 gs, the wheels where painted black with the paint chipping off. I originally planed to remove the paint and just keep the chrome look, but the chrome flaked of on most wheels, except for one. I decided to paint them to match the color scheme of my FB that will also be repainted this summer(hopefully). The 15" are going to be installed only in the rear, with 13" in the front. I choose the best 15" and they are on the car right now, pictures below. Wide body is in process as well. The other two rims I decided to paint, to see how they would look.
I tried two different options using the same paint. Only diff that in one case the red is applied over black, in other over grey. Pictures also below. I also painted the original 13" to match. Let me know what you think.
The final color I want is something in between the two reds.
All opinions are welcomed

sigh, i love how americans always tend to comment on errors made by people who's english is not their first language.
The comment about the wheels is however appreciated. Thanks.

since i have free time today, and some left over paint... here are the pictures of the wheels after a quick repaint.
so far i like the red lip with chrome and red with black the most.
The red this time is painted on orange, did not have yellow paint.

I don't however understand what you mean about the silver going around the spokes? Black center with silver lip? I tried that before and it looked cheap. Didn't even bother taking pictures.
Also to note that i'm using mat black paint. So it's not as deep as normal automotive black. Also no clear cote in the pictures.
patmac6075: in this case Americans as in USA, Alabama (don't have a more specific address) As mentioned before I have nothing against people trying to aid by correcting someones english, or any other language, but what gets to me are the empty comments that try to raise someones self-esteem by lowering others.
edit:
Sorry didn't see the photo edit you made.
Here is what it would look like, if i understood properly.
Sorry for the poor masking/paint job not taking my time to do this, the way i did originally.

If you want my $0.02, lose the red trim on the car and paint it back to automotive trim black. Then go with a full red wheel, or red centre with a polished lip, or full bronze/gold. The black centre/red lip looks cheap to me. The reason I say get rid of the red trim is that first of all, it's not a nice red to contrast with the black and it looks out of place with the silver Targa top. Kind of looks like it you just had some shade of red lying around and decided to throw it on the car for ***** n giggles. Looks like the car we always see where the young guy that owns it felt the need to paint as much of it as he could with whatever he had. A brighter red would really be set off by the black.
Good luck, hope I helped.
