Headlight Problem

So my headlights decided to give me a headache today. Here's the problem: they go down perfectly fine, but when you try to get them back up, the right one rarely comes up. Even when it does come up, its about half a minute after pressing the button. I can live with it, but I'd rather fix it than have my car winking at me.

I doubt its anything mechanical, and I already sprayed some wd-40. I'm guessing its just an electrical thing, but do you guys have any idea what's going on and what I can do to fix it?

AAAHHHH ITS SO ANNOYING

If its only one headlight, It could be a corroded connection in the multi connector that is plugged into the bottom of the relay. The relay is attached to the side of each headlight motor by a metal clamp and is normally covered by a rubber boot. It's rectangular, about 1" X 2". Find the harness connector that is plugged into the relay and wiggle or remove it and look for signs of coorosion. Sometimes, I've had to replace or work on the relay itself to get them to operate correctly.

Thanks, I'll try that tonight!

Yay!

Thanks Banzai for your help, I managed to get it fixed. A few wires were pretty frayed, so I took them out, soldered them, and put them back on. The right one still lags behind, but barely.

Take a look at the plastic bushings in both the long and short arms of the mechanism. They are notorious for becomming brittle over time and breaking apart. If one or two bushings are missing or sloppy it can mechanically throw off the raising/lowering synchronization between each side. More slop = more delay in reaction time.
