gsl-se parts

I guess this is technically non-technical. I did a search of the "parts for sale" section looking to see about gsl-se oil pan and front cover, for putting a 13b in my 85 gs, and only saw 2 results and neither had posted either of those parts.

I'm trying to get a ballpark figure of the price of those parts? Any help would be nice, thanks.

You can get the Cali version from Mazdatrix (no sub-zero sensor) for about $92.

The prices (like all of our OEM stuff) have been increasing. These were about $77 or something just a year or so ago.

actually the difference in price is almost exactly what the dollar has lost vs the yen in about the last 12-18 months. i was gonna say something about supply too, but looks like maybe that isn't a factor?

You can use the 12A cover. You just would not be able to use the GSL-SE OMP. You could premix or use the 12A OMP and split it into 4 lines instead of 2.

Your probably right on the price increase of the pan. I don't expect the price to drop when the dollar recovers, though. Seems like our parts never get cheaper. I know there are some parts that I was thinking of getting back in '97 from Mazdatrix (still have the price list somewhere). I thought that the things I wanted were way too expensive, so I passed. Now some of those items are like 3x-4x more expensive (if you can get them anymore). I really wish I didn't wait.

So, if the price for a new part is somewhat reasonable and you can still get it, I suggest that you grab it while you can. Supply is certainly not getting any better and prices have nowhere to go, but up.

Expect to pay around 100-125 for the oil pan and front cover used.
