Green tarnish/gunk on buttons

Anyone else got this? I dont know what it is, but it appears to be some sort of tarnish, like copper tarnish, on the silver HVAC buttons and on the buttons for the radio.

I tried some Tarnex tarnish remover today, and it didnt really help.

any other ideas?

Sounds like the chromium layer has worn down to the copper layer on your *****. Paint or replace.

agreed with trochoid. at that point, there's not much that can be done. i've tried a lot of cleaning products and it seems as though the paint on it has oxidized green...
