Got a SA 1979 RX7 for cheap!

Hey everybody!

I managed to get my hands on an 1979 SA for parts, vin number sa22c54112 for 250$. It was a 6hrs ride back and forth with the dolley, cost me about 80$ in gas, but was well worth it i think! Last owner left it in a pile of snow for dead, and then tried to sell it for way too much... I offered him 250$ and he said yes right away!

Floors are non existant, carburetor is not working, fuel pump is dead, engine is getting good compression, interior is pretty much all there! I'm planning on selling the engine/transmission, keep everything from the interior for my current build, and keep all the rest as spare parts, sell catalyst converters and parts i won't use to cover the price i paid for the car!

I'll post pics tomorrow, too dark right now to take any...

Best source of spares you will prob ever find. I have bought and stripped 2 myself. Pulling a wreck apart is a great way to see how these things are screwed together...

I'll be using lots of parts from this one on my current build, and i'll just sell what i have no use for. If any of you needs some parts from it, don't be shy to PM me! If i don't need it, it'll be my pleasure to sell it to you! I'm gonna take pictures of all the parts i won't need when i remove them to put them in the for sale section!

By the way, i took the pictures after i started stripping the car, that's why there's no rear light or ignitor/cable, but i have them all, and they're all going for sale!

Stripped most of the interior, it's incredible all the stuff i was missing! I'm probably gonna paint the interior black and die the carpets too, but i'm still a long way from there!

Ouch!

Yeah, that thing has some pretty significant frame rot and makes my rust bucket look great! Awesome find. Lots of bits and pieces that you'll be able to salvage that will make it well worth the $250.

You won't find catalytic converters on a 79, unless they were a retrofit - thermal reactor and heat exchanger, no cats.

Looks like the center console surround (large plastic piece that makes up the middle of the lower dash) is already missing; some day I'd like to find a good one for a project.

There is some scratch but overall pretty good condition. Seems like a pain in the *** to remove, but i'll do it if you want it. I have no idea how much it's worth, so i'd say something like 60$ plus shipping, is that ok with you?

If DivinDriver doesn't want it, I'll take it. Mine is black and missing a large section from the left side, kinda like someone's knee hit it and broke it, but I'd paint it black and make it work if shipping isn't exorbitant. But, DD has dibs on it so I yield to him on this one...

What about a full quote on all those parts I asked about. (Before the dash and all gets shipped off my chrome strips are on them).

$15 plus shipping sounds fine to me. No rush on the shipping, slow boat is fine. Please pack it safely.

If you'd rather not bother with having to remove the chrome strips from it, I'll be happy to carefully remove them and send them onward to Ncross for only the cost of mailing them.
