Get a great price on some Rx-8 seats

Won an auction for some RX-8 seats and another auction for a RX-8 steering wheel. Lets hope shipping doesn't kill the price. The guy quoted me $125 before the auction ended and now he's saying over $300. Haven't paid yet. If he doesn't come down on the shipping I'm not going to honor the auction.

If he sticks to the high shipping price and someone near Cameron North Carolina wants them let me know and we can work a deal.

Got the shipping price down to $164. I can live with that. Two RX-8 seats and wheel for $251 shipped.

That's a steal. Nice. I had mine shipped freight to one of the supply houses I buy materials from for my work. I think I paid 300-350 shipped for the seats alone. Mine were the black/brown vinyl version though.

My 85 GSL has the burgundy interior. These seats don't match but at this price I don't care. I'll just change the door panel inserts to grey and call it good.

I'm also going to experiment with changing the steering wheel over to the RX-8 one. Might have to dig in to how the cruise and radio (after market) controls can function. Since I have a 5 speed, the paddle shifters are of no use. Might try to see if I can use them for another purpose - like making the head light go up/down or control the dimmer switch.

Well, after three weeks the seller flaked. I got fed up and escalated to eBay and they immediately gave me a full refund. If anyone near Cameron North Carolina wants a set of RX-8 seats and can pick them up, contact this guy. I think in the end he underestimated shipping and kept dragging his feet.

Do the RX-8 seats fit in a FB without major modifications to the seat rails? I'd be surprised if they did.

I does take some fab work on the seat rails. Nothing major though. There's a write-up on here.
