fuel tank.

I dropped the fuel tank on my 84 SE yesterday, and I couldn't believe how it looked inside. I expected to find all kinds of crud, but it was clean as can be. It looked like a new tank. I was so shocked because this car, up unitl this past year, sat for 14 years with old gas in it. I pulled out the pick-up assembly, and the screen/sock assembly on the bottom of the fuel line also looked new. I guess I'm blessed :-)

have you ran ethanol gas through it?
i hear that it makes the inside of your tank look new. but sends all the **** through your fuel system.

Nope. The only thing I ever ran through the system was gas. I wish I could take pics of the inside. For some odd reason, it reminds me of brand new oven----smooth, shiny, and clean.
