Fuel Pump Pressure Test
I inspected my fuel tank, it was totally rotted, as was the fuel syphon tube filter screen.
My screen membrane was totally rotted away, and Mazda doesn't make them any longer.
I determined to try a nylon stocking as a substitute. I submerged tested the foot section of a nylon stocking, wrapped around the syphon tube filter frame.
After a week submerged the stocking showed no sign of disintegration, deterioration or failure.
I tested the fuel pump with the DIY filter screen hack. The pump worked fine, and fuel was successfully transferred through the test system.
However, no pressure was recorded on the pressure gauge. Not sure why. The gauge did work in the engine bay, prior to dropping the tank.
How do I test the tester, to make sure the tester and gauge is working?
Inside tank, with rotted filter
In-tank filter
Fuel tubes with nylon sock filter screen hack
Fuel lines in/out of fuel pump and fuel pressure gauge
