First gens in ohio
im just kinda wondering, i know you guys are out there. what do you do to control the rust issue. my car is my DD so its going to be exposed to the road salt.
what do you folks do? underbody coating? anyluck with this kind of product. im just thinking that i should get something under there before that season starts.
my lasts car was plastic so i didn't have to worry about it. (saturn SC2, nice car but it looked like an oversized hotwheels car or something)
also i looked around the NE section of the forum for a bit and wasn't really feeling welcome the way i do here in first gen land. i don't really ever get into the
other gen forums, i sometimes forget that there are other rx7s.
(we know the FB is the only real rx7 anyways, right?)
i was in there looking around to see if there was anything like a meet going on near here. (there never is) its not like i dont respect the other gens its just.
i dont feel the same way.
even if its just 1 or 2 other FB owners wanting to shoot the **** for awhile, im interested in seeing others setups and mods in person.

I just take my mom's blazer. After that bad snow we got last year, i just gave up trying to drive my fb in snow. it scared the hell outta me. There are a few of us around, idon't know how many of us are on this site though.

Your question should be more directed to those who live in states that get snow. Because my car is a daily driver, I pretty much have to drive it in the snow. However, anytime after a good romp in the snow, I always like to take it to a DIY car wash station and spray the hell out of the underbelly and wheel wells of the car. Until I get a decent truck to drive around in, this is the only option for me.

I have two at this time, but although I drove one for one winter, about 30,000 miles, I no longer drive them in the bad weather due to not wanting to promote rust on the older body

85FB are you suggesting Ohio doesn't get snow....lol

No, I meant that the question should be more generalized, instead of just asking those that live in Ohio. Ohio isn't the only state that gets snow, y'know. We got a good layer of it last year.

I live just south of the Ohio river, right across from Ironton, South Point, and Franklin Furnace, OH in Ashland, KY. I'd be interested in getting together with other FB owners and shooting the ****, checking out their cars, and bench racing. My FB's not currently road worthy yet, but I'll be following this a bit more once it's on the road. Maybe we should plan on a meet sometime this coming spring (I hibernate all winter) near Dayton or so, around central OH. I'd drive four or five hours away for a day or two meet to finally meet some of the other guys on this forum...

Spring sounds good for some kinda meet. Dayton area is fine with me, i'd drive awhile for a meet too. My car is road worthy just not show worthy yet. (Kinda dirty) I'd like a cold and dry winter too, more time for motorcycling/less miles till a rebuild on the fb.
