Finally got camera, PICS of my recent purchase

Hey fellas, im relatively new. Bought this lil gem 2 months ago and finally got around to posting pics. I just ordered 13x7 Diamond racing wheels (black) today and i have a set of 4 Cooper Cobra GT's 205/60's waiting for them when they arrive (supposedly have to be built--2weeks). Other than some exterior paint fade, this thing was very well kept. Interior is near mint. Clean engine bay as well. Came from original owner who took very good care of it. He even kept all original items he got when he bought it, eg. door sticker, a big stack of maintenance reciepts, brochure, ect. Have already learned alot on this site and hope to be here awhile

Sorry to bother you. Is there any way you could take a strait on picture of the window sticker. I've been trying to get a pic of an '83 GSL window sticker so I can make one for my car that looks right. I have the same car as you but mine is K8 with red interior.

Very clean car, it's really a shame the paint on top got so beaten up by the sun because the sides look very siney! very clean engine too, wish mine looked like that haha. Nice find!

Wow! That is an awesome find you have! I have the exact same color and trim! Maya Gold GSL! Except mines an 82 so it had a tan interior (which is quite difficult to find parts for) and leather seats. Your interior looks amazing with the premium sound system and mint center counsel/dash parts.

Post up more pics when you have your wheels. Do you have any other plans for it?
I am doing a stock resto/rebuild currently and have a thread in this section about my 12A rebuild. Check it out! It is pretty rare that I see a gold GSL on the board let alone the streets!

As far as i know the muffler is stock

Guy either just kept it nice and clean or replaced tips at some point. He kept EVERY single maintenance/repair/replacement record (no joke, have stack of reciepts dating back to 82) and i didnt see anything for new muffler, so...thanks for compliment

Yea whats the deal with the golds? I dont see hardly ANY Maya Gold 7's on here. Was it limited to only couple yrs or did people just not like that color? I must have nack for getting rare color rotaries, my RX-8 is Nordic Green, pretty rare color as only offered in 04-05 models.

Plans? I have plenty First 2 months and i have done/bought following: Sunroof (be here friday), Wheels/tires (2weeks), RP straight pipe, KN drop in, extra 12A and carb(be here early next week) to begin a rebuild/SP (build myself and SP by Rotary Performance--live 10 min from them).

Future: Replenish suspension and ultimately get her a new paint job. Nothin more than that though...but we will see

As soon as i get the wheel/tire combo on i will add the pics to this thread. I HATE waiting for ****. Bill at Diamond racing Wheels was like, "sold my last 4 sets a couple weeks ago, i have to build these from scratch". This after he tells me this size/ bolt pattern is really popular due to RX7 crowd.....hmm soooo why is it you dont stock more of these??? lol meh, makes it all the sweeter when i get em i guess.

Well as far as I know the golds were only offered from 1981-1983 which are the Series 2 and I am not sure if it was offered globally or just in the U.S.
My 1982 was made in Feb. of 82 but it was kind of an early bloomer for its year because I have the premium sound stereo but most of the 1981-1982 GSL's that I've seen have the analog tuner on top and cassette tape on the bottom whereas ours has the equalizer and joystick balancer pretty neat stuff back in the 80s!

So you're planning some performance goodies for your car already! I'm sure you'll enjoy that. I'm keeping mine all stock and original like it just rolled out of the dealership lot condition just because that's my kind of fun for this car. Perhaps later I'll find another GSL to track with.

BTW do you still have the original keys?

that's pretty cool it came with those tips stock, mine aren't that big...but that size that yours is at is what i'm looking for, that or maybe like the style the Ferrari California Edition from Ferris Bueller's Day Off dual exhaust with dual tips...although i don't know if that'd look weird on the FB...but in my head it seems pretty boss,
