Corbeau or Seat Covers?

My brown seats are not awful, but are starting to look kinda shabby. A local guy just quoted me $600 to redo both of them.

TRE is selling these for only $229 plus the brackets at $89 each, no shipping.

Boyee reminded me of these decent looking seat covers Racing Beat has on offer in vinyl too for $269 a set. That seems like alot to me.

Any other better options anyone can recommend?

I would get the Corbeau, those seat covers will just make you slide around when you take corners.

^Good point. I don't like the feeling of vinyl either.

Those seats look uncomfortable as hell. Not to mention the $600+ you will lose out on. Unless you are going to be strapped in a 5 point harness "all the time", I would go with something more street friendly. I am sure you can pick up a better set of stock seats quite cheaply.

If you decide to re-cover your current seats, just do it in cloth, instead of vinyl.

What do you use the car for? If not racing then do not get that seat.

There are better alternatives. i.e. second gen, rx8, other corbeau seats... something that has tilt adjust. Proper bucket seats are a bitch for daily driving ive found.

Yea, yea you guys are right. It is for a DD car so I should be more patient and go with something practical.

S3 seats.

I have the S2 seats and I was either on the door or deathgripping on the wheel at RA.

I use an F1 Spec fiberglass bucket seat, was 300 for a pair and are a direct bolt on to the original rails.

I'm a little guy at 5'7" 130lbs., but I DD my rex and i like the seat a lot. Makes long trips actually enjoyable.

Are you talking about these? Which model do you have and where did you get them for so cheap?

Thanks, but my interior is dark brown, so I am looking for something in a similar color or black.

Get the RB upholstery kits and redo your seats. Or DIY.

PM'ed you back.
[I got the Type 2 seats, for anyone else is curious which ones I have.]

Here is their holiday special link:

I actually got the seats as a present, but I was told that was the price. I'll let you know exactly where I got them from when I find out.

Corbeau.

The stock seats don't hold. At least get some S5 seats.

Personally I would stay away from a fixed back seat. They can be a bit uncomfortable and nothings worse than nailing your tailbone getting into one.

I would look for some turbo II seats, or something that still is adjustable for comfort. I would have loved to get my hands on a set of black leather mazdaspeed seats, but they are near impossible to find, so I ended up going with Recaro Speeds.

Wish I could get my butt into one of the Clubmans to check out the fit. No one has them in stock in my area.

actually that corbeau seat is very very comfy.. and if you are larger than a 42 inch waist then you shouldnt get racing seats anyways.

Do you have these seats? Any real info on them would be appreciated!

With a 42" waist what you really need is a diet!

Nice seats, but probably worth more than the value of my car.
