so i found a new paint site with an interesting feature Color Codes - Mazda Paint Cross-Reference

the image button on the side is Google/Bing/Yahoo and if you click it, it searches for that color for you, which is pretty neat.
it also does, it looks like just about every make

Only back to 80 it seems, so we miss the deets on some of the unique 79 colors. But noteworthy and bookmarked! Many thanks-

Yes, it looks like 1980 is last year listed, but It does include the 79 Rx-7 colors, just listed as 1980. Interestingly, the arrow in the screenshot points to Marine Blue (code A7). And at first, I thought it was trying to point out a new (to me) Rx-7 color as its listed to the far left under comments. Later I realized the post is just referencing a data base to cross-reference colors and manufactures.

Were Marine Blue (A7) and Impulse Blue (AY) used on later FB's or FC's? Referencing my Mazda paint formula book, it shows both A7 and AY as a GLC and Rx-3 colors. The book may have come out before they applied those colors to Rx-7's.

FC, no its not, we have good cataloging for those. the FB is possible.

i show the Japanese colors for 84-85 the same as the US, except they have the
IMSA special Edition in V4 Canal Blue, and then they have 2 two tone colors, QB and QY. QY is Havana Brown (T5) over P7 Antique Gold. QB is unconfirmed, but i think K3 Sunbeam Silver over maybe Tornado Gray?

the trouble with doing the 81-83 cars is that i don't have the US brochures (!), i have 82, 84 and 85. weirdly for Japan i've got the whole suite
