Carbonfiber door panels and dash?

Well, my car is almost done with the paintwork and now I am looking to finish up some little things like door panels. My original door panels were the ugly **** burgundy carpet that would have worked for me if I liked wearing bellbottoms. The first chance I got, that was ripped out. I preferred to look at the inner workings of the doors than risk catching bedbugs. I also changed the carpet to black and put in black race seats.

Now, I still have a burgundy dash and no door panels. I was looking at the Fibremaz ones, but I don’t think they make a dash for LHD cars and they are a little expensive. I know there were a couple of guys on here that were talking about making door panels, but I never saw the fruition of that.

Anyone have any suggestions or know where such a thing can be obtained?

You could always paint the carbon fiber. No need to leave looking like it just came out of the mold

Yes, carbon fiber can be painted but I guess fiberglass is an option?

Anyone knows where to get it?

He has always been good at getting back to me in a timely manner. He just wrote me back today:

“Hi Michael, how how have you been?
I can do door panels and console fairly quickly.
I can send console in the post, doortrims will have to be TNT,DHL or one of the bigger companies (they are just outside size restrictions for postage) the same applies for hoods.

I will have ventred C/F hoods available again in approximately 2 months. I have attatcheda couple of pics of what they will look like.- (Will be using vacum bag method for these)
Yes they bolt up to the factory hinges at the front and have metal hood catch/rod so factory hood release can also be used.
- I have pics of a finished C/F hood using old moulds, I'll send when I find them.

What's the Zip code and town name for delivery? I'll find out some prices for you in the next few days on postage/shipping

Door panels $620AUD for pair - 3k twill waeve Carbon Fibre, professionally clearcoated and polished. Mine still look good after more than 4 years.
Console $225AUD with any required cutouts for A/C slider arms/ A/C ****, guages, switches etc. I can do both the trims and console a bit cheaper if you know someone with a bodyshop they may be a ble to do it for cheaper than here (make sure they use high quality clear that's correct for the application)

P.S will be launching a website in the near future with all parts listed”

About the dash his reply was:

“In regards to LHD C/F dashtop - If you could find me one in decent shape and send it over I could mould from it, if you could get some other people keened up and willing to buy I would consider covering the mould costs.
I'll get back to you with prices soon.”

ALWAYS research parts sellers. Things change, people change. Head to the Good Guys/Bad Guys boards and see what the latest word is on the guy.

Caveat Emptor.

Exactly. Getting excited about custom parts and then taking a few minutes to research I'd be very afraid to send money.

There's always Paypal if you're concerned about sending money overseas, it's usually about the same fee wise as doing a transfer at the bank and you have buyer protection.

Dude, I'm Australian, not Nigerian

Someone must have not given BMW this memo--the latest M3 has a CF roof. Maybe they were trying to be like Honda.

It's not just for looks, it improves the centre of gravity by shaving weight from the highest point.

Show me some Honda's with factory C/F parts, I can't think of any besides perhaps the special model NSX.

C/F is superior to metal, like it or not

Yes, I was being scarcastic as I am a BMW fan and to say that CF is just for Hondas is just a little crazy.
