Black badge goes on front or back??

Okay guys, I know it's a dumb question, but I didn't pay enough attention when I was getting ready to paint my car. Does the black or silver Mazda badge go on the front of the car??

Black badge goes on the front, should have plastic pins sticking out the back...Silver goes on back and has no pins. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how my cars have been. Wait, just remembered...I think there is also a black MAZDA badge on the back, but it is smaller than the one on the front. Silver badges on back are model id.s (GSL, GS, etc)

Mine are both black, but it seems like I saw pics of the silver ones on the front. They both have pins.

it depends on the year. 79-80 had chrome pained outlined MAZDA logos with a black painted center. 81-85 had all black logos. the logos are different sizes. the smaller 2 pin (79-82) or 3 pin (83-85) logo goes on the right rear of the car. the larger 2 pin (81-82) or 3 pin (83-85), goes on the front of the car.

Thanks guys. I figured out by the size of the badges and the distance the holes were apart from each other that the big black one does go on the front and the small silver one goes on the back.

The car looks way better now since it has badges, but on the back, some of the glue dripped down and ate away at my brand new paint : (.

you dont need glue for the badges...they are held in place by clips..if your clips are broken off and you have new paint, buying new badges is the only way to go.

...or use the 3M double-sided tape made for just this type of application! No pins to sweat - no metal clips on the back to begin a rust issue. In my case my SavannaRX7 badges had extra pins that would have meant drilling (*gag*) another hole into my fenders - so I clipped off (*gag* again!) the badge pins (on brand new $50 badges - that hurt!) and used the 3M. That was 4 yrs ago -

Darn it! I wish I knew about that before I glued mine on. The glue worked okay, and the bond seems very strong, I'm just a little pissed about that one spot where the glue dripped down and messed up my paint.

Would you happen to know if that 3M tape works on the rubber trim for the side of the car? Because I need to put the small piece of rubber trim behind the rear wheel back on.

the 3M double sided adhesive works great for the side mouldings. i can take a pic of the roll i use and post it up for reference if you'd like. the only trick with it is you have to make sure both surfaces are clean and dry. you must remove all of the old adhesive on the trim. i se a heat gun to ensure a good bond.

I used the 3m tape to reattach my side mouldings after getting the car painted. Being paranoid, I also ran a thin bead of silicone along the top edge of the tape to improve its weather resistance.

Went on something like 5, 6 years ago if not more, still tight as can be.
