Best $110 i ever spent

I just saw this ad on craigslist about this time last week and saw a rb header and presilencer for sale. Guy wanted $125. I got him down to $110. They had a bit of surface rust. You cant see it on the presilencer but there is a lil bit. I sanded them down and painted them with high heat black paint. Now just waiting for it to cure. Hope to get them on by friday.

Nice K-Swiss. Yea, header paint never even lasts on piston-powered vehicles. Add another 400-600 degrees farenheit to that, and well-you get it. It's gone even quicker...I'd bet it will burn off within the first twenty minutes of idling...

That "high heat paint that doesnt last" has lasted on my RB header.. It got kind of grey and ashy looking, but did not burn or flake off, still looks much better then it did.. the 12a has seen lots of 8k too

you should bring it up to my house and we can take an 4.5 in grinder to it and shine it up, I don't think the paint will last long.

When I had my little pickup, I stuck on Edelbrock tubular exhaust headers. They were painted the same color black however once the heat came through them, they turned an ashen color. Still, it didn't bother me, at least they maintained that ash color.

Still a nice find for the money.

Definatly a good buy, the paint probably won't last, but then again neither did the chrome plating that my FB headers had on them (From RB no less)

The high temp paint on my REPU header is still there after 300 miles. It got a little ashy but that's all. Looks tons better than it did.

Mine never bubbled. Did you paint it on thick?

I painted mine on according to the directions and it came out great. My friend painted his header kind of a silver and it bubbled. He tends to paint thick.
